Been re-reading Susan Cannon Harris's Women On Fire trilogy:

I've been out of the loop, I didn't know the prequel (Better to Burn) was finished (though I would've guessed if I'd stopped to think about it....), so I'll have to get it. I had the enormous good fortune to read these books as they were written. To comment, now and then, and even to contribute in a very small way. What I got back from that particular investment was a thousand-fold and more:
solid world-building
interesting characters
exciting events
happening to strong, intelligent, vibrant women.
If you like fantasy, good fantasy, you're in for a treat.
