Narcissus in Chains

Narcissus in Chains, by Laurell K. Hamilton.

Anita Blake is back, battling her complicated love affairs and equally-complicated lycanthrope politics.

When a potential Nimir-Raj shows up with his pard, we get to meet the werehyenas, a new swan king, and Anita just might have turned into a lycanthrope for real after the wrong tussle. Along with saving various butts and counseling the occasional cop, she takes a vampire servant and has to figure out what to do about inheriting Jean-Claude's ardeur, along with the repercussions of the werewolf pack's attempts at democracy.

Guns, explicit sex and oodles of monsters. What's not to like?
